The library's plan for adding new materials and removing outdated materials is outlined in its Collection Development Guidelines.
Some highlights include:
- The library priorizes purchasing materials which support the Cerro Coso curriculum. Instructor requests are often honored.
- The library is only able to purchase textbooks that have been currently adopted through external funding sources.
- Due to space limitations, the library is now only accepting donations of current editions of textbooks and other books which have been published within the last 10 years.
- The library does not purchase or accept donations of materials in outdated formats (VHS, cassettes, etc.)
- Library materials are weeded from the collection based on guidelines such as: age, accuracy of content, physical condition, and borrower circulation.
If you would like to recommend new purchases or donate items to the library, please read through the guidelines and either email the library or complete the purchase request form below.
