50th anniversary logoCerro Coso is celebrating its 50th anniversary!

In September of 1973, our college changed its name from the "Bakersfield College Desert Campus" to "Cerro Coso Community College" and became a separate college.  While we are still a part of the Kern Community College District, along with Bakersfield College and Porterville College, we have been a separate, accredited institution for 50 years.

To celebrate, we at the Cerro Coso library are digitizing the college's archive of print photos and we want YOU to help us tell the story of Cerro Coso!

How can you do this? Simply visit our Fifty Years of Cerro Coso page and click the Historical Photos link.

Start digging into a folder, and if you see anyone you recognize, use your mouse to drag a box around their head, type their name, and hit "Comment." We also welcome additional context such as dates, locations, and even short descriptions about what is happening in the photo. (Please keep it clean and professional!)
