Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th to October 15th, celebrates the Americans who trace their roots to Spain and Spanish-speaking Central and South American nations.
Why does Hispanic Heritage Month start on the 15th? This day marks the Independence Day anniversary of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile also celebrate their independence anniversaries later that week (US Census Bureau).
Join us on Facebook throughout the month to keep the celebration going!
In the meantime, feel free to check out some of our eBooks on Hispanic and Latinx culture:
Our Spanish Research Library Guide also has some bilingual and Spanish eBooks!
