Library Resources for Social Distancers: COVID-19

The Library is a refuge during stressful times. We are here to provide services and resources straight from home.

Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus

Prevention is the best course of action. Older adults and individuals with compromised immune systems or serious medical conditions (such as diabetes, heart disease, or lung disease) should remain in their homes as much as possible.

Health resources also encourage everyone to:

  • Get the COVID-19 vaccine. These have been thoroughly tested and proven safe.
  • Wear a face mask or cloth covering in public.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (use hand sanitizer only if soap and water are unavailable).
  • Don't touch eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Frequently clean and disinfect surfaces that are exposed germs.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel.

Symptoms of Coronavirus

Coronavirus Symptoms Include:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If You Feel Unwell:

  1. Stay home, even if you have mild symptoms.
  2. Call your doctor or local health department so they can direct you to an appropriate location.
  3. Follow additional guidance from your healthcare provider.
  4. If you are asked to self-quarantine, do not go out in public for any reason until you are cleared.
