Have you been to the Cerro Coso library in Ridgecrest recently? If so, you might have noticed some minor renovations and a few new features!
Our fantastic maintenance and operation guys have moved several of our bookshelves inward to create a cozier reading nook, and we now have beanbags and couches for your comfort. (No nap pods yet, but our fingers are crossed!) Some chairs have been moved next to pillars so you can use the nearby outlets, while other have been rotated so you can better enjoy the fantastic view of the city of Ridgecrest below the college.
We used to bring our sudoku and coloring pages out during finals week, but they have been given a permanent home in the reading nook's stress free zone. Our magazine rack now has current magazines on one side and puzzles on the other, and we've pushed two tables together so you can work on two puzzles at once (or one really big one)!
We have also pulled some of our popular fiction titles, graphic novels, children's books, and young adult literature out of the stacks and onto a display shelf behind our club resources, for your one-stop leisurely reading convenience. Don't forget to also check out our freebie shelf, which is still full of donated textbooks, DVDs, and other materials looking for a new home!
So if you need a place to cool off during the summer, come hang out at the library! We have a quiet, comfortable, air conditioned environment, with free snacks and plenty of reading material.

Have some ideas to make the library space an even better place to hang out? Let us know!
