What is an EMT?

An EMT or Emergency Medical Technician is the first responder to any kind of accident or emergency. EMT's are responsible for making sure that the sick and injured are in a stable condition so that they can be transferred to the hospital for further medical care after an accident. The job of EMT is an entry level version of the job of Paramedic. Despite their designation as entry level, EMT's need many of the same skills and knowledge that is needed to eventually become a Paramedic.
