That New Blog Smell

by Cerro Coso Library on 2018-08-01T09:00:00-07:00 in Library | 0 Comments

New smells are fantastic. Fresh paint? Yes. New car? Definitely. New books? ABSOLUTELY.

(Well, okay, some of the textbooks these days must have something in the glue, because they're a bit off. Ask your instructors about adopting OERs instead.)

So while the college is celebrating the renovated Soon-to-be-Open-Any-Day-Now Main Building, the library is also celebrating our newest platform, LibGuides, as well as our new LibGuide Blog. What are LibGuides? They are like mini-websites that allow us to put links to books, articles, databases, and other resources all in one place. Looking for art images? Check out the Art Research Guide. Need help on your Othello paper? We've got a tab for that in our Shakespeare Research Guide. Don't have a clue about APA citations? Got you covered. Are you an instructor who has no idea how to put all this stuff in your class? We can help - look in the Faculty Services guide.

Library staff members are easily excited by cakes, cats and organized information, so there's no question that we're kind of excited about this. But while we're having fun over here rolling out LibGuides for you, we also want to know how we can make things better. What is or isn't working for you? Let us know - before we get too carried away and develop an Awesome Pet LibGuide.
